What is remanufactured cartridge?When my car needs a scheduled service, I take it to the work shop. At work shop mechanic checks the engine, changes oil and filter, if necessary changes the spark plug or other parts then go for a drive for a test. I have the same car but with new oil and filter (at least). A remanufactured cartridge is made from empty original cartridge. Original cartridges retain their functional quality when they run out of toner. These cartridges are collected by the remanufacturing industry through their collection program. In the factory they undergo a strict process to ensure the quality of the cartridge. After visual inspection of the cartridge, it is reassembled, cleaned, checked all the components, replaced any faulty or weak components, filled with quality toner, reassembled then tested individually for its print quality with a set of graphic test pages. Cartridge remanufacturing industry is not a 'drill & fill' anymore. It is a full established industry with dedicated research and development industry. Even Xerox is remanufacturing cartridges of other OEM brands through their 'it's compatible' program. Though OEM companies always trying to stop or slow down the remanufacturing industry by legal and technical obstruction, but remanufacturing industry has always over come those challenges. Why use remanufactured cartridge? Cost effective: The major costs of remanufactured cartridges are toner and labour. A remanufacturer can provide better price as he reuses almost all the original components. In some cases, remanufactured cartridges are up to 70% cheaper then the OEM cartridges. Environmental benefits: A remanufacturer reuses original cartridge until it breaks down or loses it functionality then sends them to other industry for recycle. This way remanufacturing industry provides most environmental benefits. Social benefits: Remanufacturing industry creates more jobs. |
